SNU/Spiritualist Church Work
As well as regularly serving Spiritualist Churches to deliver philosophy and mediumship for divine services, demonstrations of mediumship, and to deliver training / workshops on mediumship and Spiritualism, Richard also supports the work of the Spiritualists’ National Union (SNU) more widely. He currently sits on the National Executive Committee of the SNU as Education & Exponents Directors. As well as being Course Organiser for the TPS2 Course (Teachings & Practice of Spiritualism) and D5 Course (Spiritualism in World Religion) , Richard is also a tutor and marker for three of the SNU’s written academic courses in Mediumship and Spiritualism ( SD2 – The Phenomena of Spiritualism, SD3- The History and Teachings of Spiritualism and D5 - The Practice of Mediumship ) supporting students in the UK and abroad.
In 2015 Richard’s contribution to and achievements in education within the SNU were recognised when he became the first person to be awarded the SNU Northern District Council Education Award.
In 2019 Richard was ordained as Minister of the SNU meaning that he is able to deliver services such as weddings, funerals and naming services, as well as supporting and developing the work and profile of the SNU in this official capacity. Richard's ministerial work also means that he supports individuals in a pastoral capacity, this includes chaplaincy work in places such as hospitals and prisons.
The development of others in mediumship and Spiritualism is one of Richard’s passions. He regularly delivers workshops/training within Spiritualist Churches and has led and supported development groups and circles.
